1. Curing Light No two dental curing lights are the same. Although many have similar ergonomics, and all emit blue light, the spectral radiant power varies greatly between curing lights. Different lights can perform very differently over clinically relevant distances, emitting much less energy at a distance of 4-6 mm than at 1-2 mm.  Equally importantly, the output from every curing light changes over time and a curing light could well lose much of its ability to emit useful light long before the dentist realises that there is a problem.
